4 Day Gorilla and Golden Monkey Discovery Rwanda to Uganda

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome from your guide at your hotel in Kigali. First, we’ll visit the poignant Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay tribute to those lost in the 1994 Tutsi genocide. After this emotional visit, we’ll drive northwest for about 2.5 hours, passing through Rwanda’s picturesque rolling hills and vibrant market towns, before arriving at the stunning Volcanoes National Park. This incredible park is known for Dian Fossey’s groundbreaking research on mountain gorillas and is a gateway to Rwanda’s extraordinary wildlife.

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the Kinigi Park headquarters for an informative briefing on Golden Monkey tracking. You’ll then hike through the lush rainforest in search of the playful and rare golden monkeys, enjoying a truly magical wildlife encounter. After this unique experience, you’ll continue your journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, where you’ll prepare for your next thrilling adventure.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll travel to the ranger station for an in-depth briefing on the dos and don’ts of interacting with gorillas. Accompanied by an expert guide, you’ll embark on an exciting trek through the dense forest in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas. Once you find them, you’ll have an unforgettable hour to observe and photograph them from just 10 meters away, immersing yourself in the serene beauty of these endangered creatures. After your remarkable encounter, you’ll transfer to the tranquil shores of Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the lake before we begin the journey back to Kigali, Rwanda. Once in Kigali, your guide will drop you off at your preferred location, whether it’s your hotel or Kigali International Airport, for your onward travels, reflecting on an unforgettable wildlife adventure across two of Africa’s most beautiful countries.
