10 Days of Rwanda’s Natural Wonders

After a hearty breakfast, your guide will pick you up and embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park. Along the way, enjoy Rwanda's captivating landscapes and stop for photo opportunities. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation after a brief game drive. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

Rise early for an exciting game drive in Akagera, searching for iconic wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and the recently reintroduced lions and rhinos. With over 500 bird species, the park is also a paradise for birdwatchers. After a packed lunch, enjoy the scenic drive back to Kigali before journeying to Volcanoes National Park for your overnight stay.

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Volcanoes National Park for your thrilling gorilla trek. After a briefing, venture into the forest to find a habituated gorilla group. The trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 5 hours. Once you encounter the gorillas, enjoy a full hour of observation, capturing memorable photos and videos. Return to your lodge in the evening to relax and unwind.

After breakfast, you’ll journey to the park for a rare golden monkey tracking experience. Known for their distinctive yellow fur, these endangered primates inhabit the Virunga Mountains. Along the way, you may spot other primates and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Today, immerse yourself in Rwanda’s culture with a visit to the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll experience traditional dances, songs, and customs. After lunch, transfer to Gisenyi for a serene kayaking adventure on Lake Kivu, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Enjoy a leisurely evening at the lakeside with dinner and an overnight stay.

Start the day with breakfast and head out to explore Lake Kivu by kayak. Experience the peaceful atmosphere as you observe local fishermen and abundant birdlife. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing on the sandy beach, soaking up the tranquil surroundings.

Begin your day with a guided tour of Gisenyi, learning about its vibrant history and local culture. Before lunch, visit the Kivumu coffee farmers, where you’ll witness the traditional process of coffee production, from seed to cup. Afterward, enjoy lunch and continue your journey to Karongi for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride to Amahoro Island, a peaceful retreat with a campsite and restaurant, perfect for relaxation. Continue your adventure with a visit to Napoleon Island, home to a colony of fruit bats. After lunch, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park, where you’ll check in for the evening.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Venture into the jungle to search for these fascinating primates, spending up to one hour observing and photographing them. After returning to your lodge for lunch, enjoy an afternoon canopy walk for stunning views of the forest from above, offering a unique perspective of Rwanda’s biodiversity.

On your final day, enjoy a tour of the Gisakura or Kitabi tea factory, where you’ll learn about the tea production process. Next, head to Huye to explore the National Ethnographic Museum of Rwanda, offering insight into the country's rich cultural heritage. After lunch, return to Kigali for your departure.
