Visa Policy for Gorilla Trekking Tours: What Travelers Should Know

When planning a gorilla trekking tour in Uganda, Rwanda, or the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), understanding the visa requirements is just as important as booking your gorilla permit. Each country has its own visa policy, but fortunately, the region offers several options to simplify travel especially if you’re planning a combined itinerary.

1. Rwanda Visa Requirements

Visa on Arrival: Citizens of all countries can obtain a 30-day visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport or land borders.

  • Online Application (e-Visa): You can apply in advance through Rwanda’s official immigration website.
  • Cost: $50 for a single-entry visa.
  • East Africa Tourist Visa: Available for $100, this visa allows multiple entries to Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya within a 90-day period (ideal for combined tours).
