2 Day Rwanda Primate Trek Chimpanzees and Colobus Monkeys

Start your journey early as we drive south from Kigali, making our way towards the enchanting Nyungwe Forest National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a tasty lunch before we embark on an exciting trek to track the charismatic Colobus monkeys. Located near the edge of the forest in the Gisakura area, this short and delightful trek offers the perfect introduction to Rwanda’s wildlife. After your monkey encounter, return to the lodge for a peaceful evening of relaxation, followed by a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast, we head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Equipped with a knowledgeable ranger guide, we’ll venture deep into the heart of the forest in search of the wild chimpanzees. Once you find these remarkable creatures, you’ll have one unforgettable hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat. The trek duration varies based on the chimpanzees' movements, but our goal is always to bring you up close to these intelligent and playful primates. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, check out, and enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali, where you’ll be dropped off at your desired destination, reflecting on an incredible wildlife experience.
